McFadden Contracting is a general partnership company owned by husband and wife team, Phill and Jennifer McFadden, since 2007.
Phill has been in the Landscape/Horticulture industry since 2003, having graduated from the Humber College Horticultural Apprenticeship program in 2006. Afterwards he completed his Apprenticeship by writing his exit exam to obtain his certificate of qualification, becoming a red seal trade in Ontario in 2009. Phill is focused on growing the business as the industry shifts towards sustainable landscapes and environmentally friendly practices and operations.
He believes education is a high priority, and makes sure that anyone who works for the company is not just shown how to complete the work they are asked to do, but taught why it’s important and why it works, and why quality matters. He hopes to help make customer satisfaction and quality a priority in this industry. Phill is also an avid drummer, so if you catch him in the truck or around the job site tapping away, he probably has a beat in his head!
Jennifer is more of a silent (but not so silent) partner in the business, the backbone of organization and structure within the company. Jennifer graduated from the University of Guelph in 2006 with a BSc in Biological Sciences with a minor in Nutrition. She currently works full-time for a large healthcare company, which means some late nights and frequent lunch/business meetings. Jennifer has also completed multiple accounting courses.
Together, they maintain a modest goal for the company. To grow, but never so large that the absolute highest quality of workmanship and customer satisfaction can’t be maintained. And to operate an above board company that abides by all safety, legal and operational regulations.
